TC TITANS COMPETE IN SEMI-FINALS, EARN GRACIOUS PROFESSIONALISM AWARD AT FIRST COMPETITION

In our first competition of the 2024 FIRST Robotics season, the TC Titans made it all the way to the semi-finals and were awarded the highly coveted Gracious Professionalism Award by the event’s judges, one of FIRST Robotics’ highest honors.

Our first event of the season found us in Battle Creek, Michigan where we competed alongside 39 other teams from across the state. Despite some sensor woes on our robot that prevented us from executing our game plan fully in some of our qualifying rounds, we were able to finish in 11th place after our initial 12 qualifying rounds. We were then selected by the Alliance #5 captain as their first-round draft pick and together, along with our other alliance team member, competed in four semi-final rounds before being eliminated.

During the awards presentations, the TC Titans were awarded with the Gracious Professionalism Award, which celebrates outstanding demonstration of high quality work and working together with others both on and off the playing field.

The TC Titans’ performance in the qualifying and semi-final rounds, along with the Gracious Professionalism Award, earned the TC Titans 40 ranking points toward our quest to qualify for the Michigan State Championship held in early April.
