The TC TItans – alongside our alliance partners FRC Team 1711 The Raptors from Traverse City Central High School and FRC Team 3770 BlitzCreek from Midland, Michigan – won our second competition of the 2024 season, which was held in our hometown of Traverse City March 16-18.
The TC Titans were also awarded the Excellence in Engineering Award at the conclusion of the two-day competition.
The TC TItans competed alongside 39 other teams from across the state. After the initial 12 qualifying rounds, the TC Titans were in ninth place. We were then selected by the Alliance #3 captain, the Raptors from TC Central High School as their first-round draft pick and together, along with our other alliance team member, BlitzCreek, competed in five semi-final rounds and three finals rounds before our alliance was crowned the winners of the entire competition.

One of the weekend’s most exciting moments occurred in qualifying match 72, when TC Titans’ Human Player, Ryan R., completed the very difficult task of completing a Triple High Note — one of just a handful of players worldwide to land this feat this season.
During the awards presentations, the TC Titans were also presented with the Excellence in Engineering Award, which celebrates the team that demonstrates a professional approach to the design process and produces a design that is functional, practical, elegant and advantageous on the field.
The TC Titans’ performance in the Traverse City competition along with the Excellence in Engineering Award earned the TC Titans 66 ranking points. When combined with the 40 points we earned at our first competition in Battle Creek two weeks prior, the TC Titans now have a total of 106 ranking points toward our quest to qualify for the Michigan State Championship held in early April. The TC Titans are also hoping for a return trip to the World Championship held in Houston, Texas in mid-April.
