The TC Titans were founded in 2011. During our first season as an FRC team, we earned the Rookie All Star and Rookie Inspiration awards at District events. In our second year, 3767 was rebranded as the Toxic Bots, only to return to Titan Robotics in 2013.
With growth in interest, we introduced team 3886 in 2013, a team made with the sole purpose of giving new team members the experience of being involved in the physical work of building the robot under the mentorship of veteran team members.
Titan Robotics continued in this way — with team 3767 and team 3886 — for a few years, each year growing in skill and aiming ever higher. In 2016, the Titans won the District Chairman’s Award at the Escanaba event, earning a place at the Michigan State competition for the first time. In addition, one of our teammates was a Dean’s List Finalist and to top it off, that same year, our beloved rookie team, 3886, made it to the Michigan State Championship as well.
Unfortunately, in 2017, we were forced to shelve team 3886 due to funding. Though the team is gone, 3767 continues our commitment to giving our newest members involved in all areas of the FRC robotics experience.
Team 3767, now operating as one team, continued onward and upward. Since that first appearance at the Michigan State Championship in 2016, 3767 has qualified for the Michigan State Championship every year (with the exception of the COVID-19 years) and qualified for the World Championship in 2018, 2023 and most recently in 2024.
Prior to our 2024 season, we updated our brand identity, changing our name to TC Titans and changing our logo and team colors. Learn more about the TC Titans brand, here.
In addition to qualifying for the World Championship for the second year in a row, the 2024 season also found the TC Titans earning the Gracious Professionalism Award at our first comp, the Excellence in Engineering Award are our second comp, and the Industrial Design Award sponsored by General Motors at the Michigan State Championship. We also won the Traverse City District competition alongside our alliance partners.
During the 2025 season, our team qualified for, and played in the initial playoffs at worlds. This was the third consecutive year in a row that our team had been selected to play at worlds. Also during this season, we also won our home tournament, the Traverse City competition, for the third year in a row. During our first two district competitions, we won the industrial design award at the first competition, and engineering inspiration at the second competition. At the FIRST Michigan competition we won the quality award, one of our set goals for the 2025 season.
